Over a Barrel

Book 4 of Five Family Vineyard by Kelly Kay

Over a Barrel: Stafýlia Cellars is the first part of Bax and Tabi’s story. The book is written in a fun and engaging way, covering 30 years of deep friendship and the events of one night that will lead to the second part of the story.

Their friendship started when they were about five. Their parents were best friends and lived in Sonoma with three other families, working hard at their wineries. The families shared a tight bond, and the children grew up with the same close-knit relationship as their parents.

Tabitha is a Greek brunette beauty. She’s an intelligent, spontaneous, and strong-willed woman with no filter. She was bred to take over her family’s winery, but her father doesn’t accept her way of life and places every obstacle possible to prevent her from inheriting the business.

Baxter is a blond hunk with a chest to die for. He wanted to live up to his mother’s dreams—be of service, help people, and make a difference. He studied his entire life, made connections, and decided to engage in politics.

The story shifts between the past and present, giving the reader all the details of their childhood, adventures, discoveries, and experiences over the years. It explores the unique bond between the kids growing up, especially between Baxter and Tabitha. Their connection is beyond words—written in the stars. It’s a beautiful and romantic love story.

Readers will laugh out loud at their fun relationship, but also scream at them, saying, “No! Don’t do this!” when fears and insecurities take over, leading to wrong decisions. You will swoon and get hot and bothered, in need of a cold shower, because they can’t keep their hands off each other. They find and lose themselves many times over the course of their lives, and you’ll be with them every step of the way.

This duet was a gift, and I’m honored to have read such an amazing story. It was a page-turner, and I only stopped when there were no more words to read.
